The Oroville Area “Safe Communities” Coalition is a collection of dedicated, local agencies and citizens committed to the prevention of childhood injury in the Oroville Area. “Safe Communities” is an active participant in the Community Health Alliance of Oroville and together, our vision is to see the:

“ Elimination of preventable injuries and injury deaths to children and youth ages 0-20 in southern Butte County.”

Injuries Don't Just Happen

• Injuries are predictable and preventable
• Injury is the leading cause of death for children in Butte County
• Motor Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury death, followed by drowning and firearms
• Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury hospitalizations in Butte County followed by falls and poisonings.
